[미디어펜=편집국]삼성은 최근 MWC 2026과 현지 보도를 통해 '2030 AI 자율 공장(AI-Driven Factory)' 전환 전략을 공식화했다. 이 전략의 핵심 실행기지로 베트남이 될 것으로 보인다.

삼성전자는 전 세계 스마트폰 생산량의 약 50%를 베트남 박닌(SEV)과 타이응우옌(SEVT) 공장에서 생산하고 있다. 또 지난 2022년 하노이에 2억2천만 달러를 투자해 동남아 최대 규모의 R&D 센터(SRV)를 개소한 바 있다. 이 센터는 단순 제품 개발을 넘어 AI, 빅데이터, 제조 소프트웨어를 집중 연구한다. 

현장에 깔리는 '산업용 AI'를 개발하는 연구진(약 3000명)과 실제 공장이 인접해 있어, 개발된 기술을 즉시 현장에 이식할 수 있는 글로벌 거점이다. 

핵심은 '에이전틱 AI(Agentic AI)'와 '휴머노이드 로봇'의 결합이다. 올해 출시된 갤럭시 S26 시리즈에 탑재된 자율 실행 AI 기술을 제조 현장에 그대로 이식한다. AI 에이전트가 생산 공정의 품질 관리부터 물류 계획까지 스스로 판단해 조율하며, 레인보우로보틱스와 협력해 개발한 인간형 제조 로봇이 정밀 조립과 고위험 작업을 수행하게 된다.

이런 변화는 베트남 내 인건비 상승과 글로벌 공급망 재편에 대응하기 위한 삼성의 전략적 선택이다. 하노이에 위치한 대규모 삼성 R&D 센터에서 개발된 제조 소프트웨어 기술이 현지 공장에 실시간으로 적용되는 구조다.

Samsung is not merely settling for financial performance. Through the recent MWC 2026 and local reports, the company formalized its '2030 AI-Driven Factory' transition strategy, designating Vietnam as the core execution base for this plan.

Samsung Electronics produces approximately 50% of its global smartphone volume at its Bac Ninh (SEV) and Thai Nguyen (SEVT) plants in Vietnam. Furthermore, in 2022, the company invested $220 million to open Southeast Asia's largest R&D Center (SRV) in Hanoi. This center goes beyond simple product development, focusing intensively on AI, Big Data, and manufacturing software.

With approximately 3,000 researchers developing 'Industrial AI' located in close proximity to the actual production lines, Vietnam serves as a premier global hub where newly developed technologies can be immediately implemented (Agile Deployment) into the manufacturing field.

The crux of the strategy is the integration of 'Agentic AI' and 'Humanoid Robots.' The autonomous AI technology featured in this year's Galaxy S26 series will be directly implemented into the manufacturing sites. AI agents will independently assess and coordinate everything from quality control to logistics planning, while humanoid manufacturing robots, developed in collaboration with Rainbow Robotics, will perform precision assembly and high-risk tasks.

This transformation is Samsung's strategic response to rising labor costs in Vietnam and the reorganization of global supply chains. The structure allows manufacturing software technology, developed at the large-scale Samsung R&D Center in Hanoi, to be applied to local factories in real-time.
