[Mediapen=Kim Young-min]Samsung is getting ready to preoccupy the next generation 5G premium smartphone market.
According to the industry, Samsung is preparing mass production of its first foldable smartphone ‘Galaxy Fold’ and ‘Galaxy Note10’. It seems that the launch date of these models is approaching.
Launching of Galaxy Fold has been delayed once due to minor flaws in the screen. Samsung
perfected the model and is now adjusting the release date.
In Korea, Galaxy Fold will only be available for 5G services. The price was first known to be 2.4 million won. However, when searching for ‘f907n’, the model name for Galaxy Fold, in Samsung’s chatbot, the selling price is shown to be 2.5 million won. The actual price may be more expensive than expected.
The price of Galaxy Fold LTE model is $1980(2.3million won) in the US and €2000(2.6million won) in Europe.
There is a possibility of Galaxy Fold being lauched during this month. However, as the Japanese government tightened restrictions to the export of fluorinated polyimide, it may cause setbacks in production. Fluorinated polyimide is one of the key materials of Galaxy Fold.
Some experts commented that Samsung may rush the launching of Galaxy Fold to avoid colliding with Galaxy Note 10 and taking away each others’ market.
Galaxy Note10 will be unveiled in New York on August 7th, and will probably be sold the same month.
Samsung sent out invitation letters for Galaxy Unpacked 2019 on July 2nd.
The Galaxy Note10 will be released as a 5G exclusive phone in Korea, and the price is expected to be about 1.2 million won for the general model and about 1.4 million won for the plus model.
